Mildred J. Holmes, 81 of Magnolia, Arkansas died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia. She was born October 17, 1928 in Stephens, Arkansas to the late Willie Multrue and Gladys Irene (Vance) Higdon.
Mildred retired from the Magnolia Housing Authority after twenty six years and was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Hugh “Bill” Holmes; sister, Margie Leslie and her husband John Leslie.
Survivors are her daughters, Sherry Wilson of Waldo, Arkansas, Teresa Sawyer and husband Mike of Arlington, Texas; son, Mike Holmes of Waldo, Arkansas; grandchildren, Stephanie Ethridge of Waco, Texas, Justin Gray of Mansfield, Texas, Jason Gray of Ontario, Canada, Jennifer Gray of El Paso, Texas, Josh Gray of Texarkana, Texas, Wendy Satterfield and husband Brandon of Waldo, Arkansas, Dana Kelly and husband Joel of Waldo, Arkansas, William Holmes of Waldo, Arkansas; great grandchildren, Katelyn Ethridge of Waldo, Arkansas, Matthew Ethridge of Texarkana, Arkansas, Jacob Rabalais of Waco, Texas, Nathan Rabalais of Waco, Texas, Colton Satterfield of Waldo, Arkansas Caleb Kelly of Waldo, Arkansas, Autumn Gray of Mansfield, Texas, Allison Gray of El Paso, Texas and Jaylynne Gray of Texarkana, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Lewis Chapel with Bro. C.M. Woodard officiating. Burial will follow at the Waldo Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation will be Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to (CCAPS) Columbia County Animal Protection Society.
