James Clifton “Clif” Almand, 75, of Waldo, AR passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at his residence.
Clif was born August 17, 1940 in Rosston, AR to the late James Warren and Margarette Elizabeth (Lowry) Almand. He served his county in the Army National Guard from 1963 to 1969. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Waldo for 27 years and the church treasurer for 24 years. Clif was a member of the Masonic Lodge #440 in McNeil, AR for 54 years, a volunteer fireman for Waldo, and a former member of the Waldo School Board. He was also a Boy Scout Troop Leader in Magnolia, AR.
Clif is survived by his wife of 52 years Sharon Ann (Herring) Almand of Waldo, AR; sons Darren Almand and wife Julia of Texarkana, AR and Daman Almand wife Donna of Emerson, AR; daughter Chylene Mayberry and husband Eddie of Waldo, AR; grandsons CT Almand and wife Tara of Waldo, AR, Clint Almand and wife Amanda of Texarkana, AR, James Mayberry and wife Terry of Magnolia, AR, and Dustin Almand and wife Kaci of Waldo, AR; granddaughters Ashley Almand of Magnolia, AR and Brittney Kelley and husband Billy of Waldo, AR; step grandsons Mark Davis, Michael Davis, and Brandon Davis all of Marysville, AR; great grandchildren Dalilah Almand, Drake Almand, Dixie Almand, Mackenzie Mayberry, Lane Kelley, and Aiden Kelley; step great grandchildren Jordan Duran and Braydon Fort; brother Lynn Almand and wife Charlotte of Chidester, AR; sisters Betty McKinnis of El Dorado, AR and Jewel Hinshaw and husband Don of Stephens, AR; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, March, 24, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Waldo with Bro. Shane Crank officiating and Bro. Ed Phillips assisting. Burial will follow at the Waldo City Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia, AR. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be C.T. Almand, Clint Almand, Dustin Almand, James Mayberry, and Billy Kelley
