Mary Ellen Brewer, 80, of Oak Point, TX, formerly of Waldo, AR, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Baylor Scott and White Medical Center-Centennial in Frisco, TX.
Mary Ellen was born on October 2, 1936 in Nashville, AR and was a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in The Colony, TX. She was a school teacher for many years and a member of the Texas State Teachers Association. She was an avid animal lover and protector.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Autry and Opal Mae (Rooks) Brewer and a brother Charles Ray Brewer. She is survived by her daughters Yolanda deLuna and husband Michael of Oak Point, TX and Anna Maria Zamora of Little Elm, TX; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; brother Gene Brewer and wife Bonnie Sue of Waldo, AR; sisters Wanda Genestet of Magnolia, AR, Barbara Bradshaw of Shreveport, LA, Betty Owens of Bossier City, LA, and Jonnie Sue Harry and husband Mike of Sherwood, AR.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, February 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the Waldo Cemetery in Waldo, AR.
