James E. King, Sr., 85, of Magnolia, AR died Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Magnolia.
James was born June 13, 1930 in Bradley, AR and was preceded in death by his parents Jeff and Evelyn (Gilpen) King; son James E. King, Jr.; sisters Mary Ann King and JoNell Hudson; and step daughter Karen Dyer.
James was a retired United States Army Veteran serving 20 years with one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waldo, AR and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife Janice King of Magnolia; daughters Cindy Gage of Jonesboro and Cathy King of Pennsylvania; son in law Curtis Brown of Jonesboro; step sons Bubba Whittemore and wife Lisa of McNeil and Dennis Martin and wife Debbie of Waldo; step daughters Debbie Neill and husband Stanley of Waldo and Melissa Martin of Batesville; three grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Graveside services with Military Honors will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 16 at the Waldo Cemetery in Waldo, AR with Bro. Micah Carter officiating.
