Marion W. Lamb, 89, passed away July 10, 2010. He was born May 27, 1921 in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mabel Lamb, brother, Virgil Lamb (Mable), and sister, Ruth Lamb all of Jacksonville. Marion was a graduate of Jacksonville High School, and attended Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA) before entering the Army in WW II where he served in the South Pacific with the 96th Infantry Division under General Douglas McArthur, landing at Leyte on October 20, 1944. The unit was awarded the Philippine Republic Presidential Citation with three battle stars for the period of October 20, 1944 March 1, 1945. He began his career as a printer with the Log Cabin Democrat in Conway for five years and continued with the Arkansas Gazette for 35 more years. Marion was also a cattleman and member of the Cattlemans Association, past President of the Jacksonville Lions Club and a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.



He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Louise Lamb; sisters, Mary Alice Cole (Robert), JoAnn Smith (Buster) of Jacksonville, and Margaret Howard of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and many nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Entombment will follow a Chapel Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends, 6:00 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under direction of Moores Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. The family would like to express thanks to the doctors and staff at Baptist Health Medical Center, caregiver Dorothy Johnson, and the caring friends of Parkway Village Little Rock.

Mary Louise Parker Lamb, 94, passed away February 23, 2018.

She was born in Conway, AR on August 19, 1923 to the late Robert Julius Parker and Louise Marie Riedmatten Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert J. Parker and her husband of 69 years, Marion William Lamb.

She is survived by her sister in law, Mary Alice Lamb Cole and JoAnn Lamb Smith (Buster). She is also survived by nieces and nephews Anita Lawhorn Schwenk (Bob), Marilyn Cole Watson (Johnny) Carolyn Cole Reed (Charles), David Cole, Paul Lamb (Cathy), William H. Lamb (Nancy), Susan Lamb Bell, James Lamb (Joyce), Debbie Smith (Charles), Marshall Smith (Karen), Donna Smith, Michelle Smith Elmore (Jeff).

Mrs. Lamb was employed by the Conway School District for 40 years as Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. After retirement she and her husband, Marion moved to Jacksonville where they resided until moving into a retirement home, Parkway Village in Little Rock.

The family wished to thank Louise Denton, Karen Smith and Joyce Lamb for their faithful help in caring for Mary Louise these past few years.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 26, 2018 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home at 11am, with visitation preceding the service from 10-11am. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park
