Kelly M. Speaks, 72, of Rudy died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at his home. He was retired from Coca-Cola Bottling in Fort Smith, Army veteran of World War II, Navy veteran of the Korean Ward and widower of Barbara Jean Speaks.
Survivors include five daughters, Sherry Dodson, Kellie Speaks and Carolyn Moore, all of Rudy, Lynn Shields of Fort Smith and Shannon Kelley of Kibler; one sister, Lucille Westcott of Morrilton; one brother, Bill Speaks of Morrilton; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held Dec. 23 at Mount McCurry Cemetery in Rudy under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

Barbara Jean Speaks, 66, of Rudy died Monday, July 10, 2000, at her home.
She was a shipping and receiving clerk for Southwest Die Casting and a member of New Hope Pentecostal Church of Rudy.

Funeral was at New Hope Pentecostal Church with burial at Mt. McCurry Cemetery in Rudy under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

She is survived by her husband, Kelly; five daughters, Sherry Dodson, Kelly Speaks and Carolyn Moore, all of Rudy, Viola Shields of Fort Smith and Shannon Kelly of Kibler; one son, Carl Eugene Speaks of Rudy; two sisters, Viola Nelson of Fort Smith and Velma Elmore of Owasso, Okla.; five brothers, Harland Dodd of Lawton, Okla., Henry and Harold Dodd, both of Van Buren, Loyd Dodd of Blue Mound, Texas and James Dodd of Rudy; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Alfred, Kelly, Toby, Preston, Phillip and Neil.
