Mrs. Parsaide Murphy, 78 years old, widely known Crawford County woman, died Friday at her home near Rudy, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Murphy was the daughter of the late Gus Thomas, well known farmer who lived near Rudy. Mrs. Murphy was born in Hempstead Texas [Hempstead Co., AR], but moved to Crawford County in 1866. Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband Steven Murphy, two daughters, Mrs. William Tedder of Van Buren, and Mrs. Anna Bowen of Rudy and a son, Gus Murphy of Fayetteville; two half sisters, Mrs. Will Cunningham, wife of the Baptist minister at Stillwell Oklahoma and Mrs. M. F. Steele of Charleston: two half brothers, Bud Thomas and Robert Thomas of Duncan Oklahoma. Mrs. Anna Haigler of Van Buren is a niece. Funeral service for Mrs. Murphy was held Saturday at the Mt. Mc Curry Cemetery near Rudy with Rev. Charles Graham, Baptist minister of Rudy in charge. Burial was in the family plot.
