RUDY Elmer Hurd, 91, of Rudy died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, in a local nursing home. He was a woodcutter, a champion boxer in Madison Square Garden in New York, a champion bronco rider, an auto mechanic and a Navy Veteran of World War II. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mount McCurry Cemetery near Rudy under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. He is survived by a daughter, Jean Richardson of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; a sister, Lorene Hurd of Missouri; two brothers, Charles and Floyd Hurd, both of Missouri.Times Record Online
