Billy J. Lambert, Sr., age 97, of Hot Springs, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021.

He was born on April 16, 1924, in Salem, Arkansas, the son of Claud Nelson Lambert and Effie Mae Whisenhunt Lambert. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ethal Mae Lambert; his parents; three brothers, Leland Lambert, Leroy Lambert and John L. Lambert; one sister, Willie Pearl Plyler; and one daughter-in-law, Rebecca Harrison Lambert.

Billy was employed as a shoe repairman. He was a member of a Masonic Lodge and the Lions Club. He loved to play bingo and bean bag baseball. Billy comes from a family with longevity, his father lived to be 102, his grandfather lived to be 105, his goal was to be the longest living person in his family. Even though he didn’t make his goal, he lived life to the fullest and with gusto. He was proudest of his family and loved them with all his heart. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend to all, and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Claude Lambert and Billy Jack Lambert, Jr. and Ina Lambert; one daughter and son-in-law, Julia Nell and Ernest Dale Cooper; five grandchildren, David Cooper, Ramona Pace, Theresa Guin, Shane Lambert and Linda Smith; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of wonderful friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Wednesday, Thursday, December 29, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
