June Maureen Sanders McWha, age 85, of Hot Springs, completed her mortal journey on Friday, February 20, 2015. She was gathered gently to the breast of our loving Father God, to abide forever. She was born March 18, 1929 in Hot Springs to the late Charlie M. Sanders and Edith L. Jennings Sanders. On December 25, 1947, she was married to William "Bill" McWha, becoming beloved wife, friend, sweetheart, lover, life-time companion and partner. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and faithful friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother; one daughter, Sheila Ann McWha Robbins Beavers; two grandsons, William Raymond McWha and son and Heath Gabriel Beavers; and all of her husband's immediate family. She is survived by her loving husband, William B. McWha; four precious daughters, Cheryl Thornton, Billie June Sable, Cynthia Gayle McWha, Martha L. (McWha) Bates and Martha's loving husband, Jerry. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the "apple of grandma's eyes." Surviving her are four grandsons, Clint Beavers, Robert Johnston, Christopher Johnston and William J. Paladino (wife Catherine and family); one granddaughter, Cassie (Beavers) Richards (husband Brad and son). The added blessing of three great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons filled Grandma's heart with pride and love. Our beloved Maureen courageously battled the onslaught and long-term debilitation of Alzheimer's. Through it all, her loving husband was ever by her side, with loving family and friends, giving gentle care, strength, encouragement and support through every day. Succumbing (but never surrendering!) was inevitable with the heartache, grief and sorrow it brings. But sustained by a heart full of precious memories, we remember and celebrate a wonderful life we shared and the victory through our faith in Jesus! A great fountain of blessing was given us through Arkansas Hospice. Each and every one of their staff and personnel ministered to our needs with such compassion, kindness and affection that they will be a part of our extended family. Words can never fully express our heartfelt appreciation. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2015 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Rev. David "Doc" Kinser officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of our friends at Davis-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until service time on Thursday afternoon. Pallbearers will be Joe Paladino, John Lightner, Nathan Robinson, Jeff Hodges, Chris Johnston and Steven Murders. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Bates, Brad Richards, Robert Johnston and Clint Beavers. In lieu of flowers, a gift of memory may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 628 Malvern Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901 or First Christian Church, our church home, 1806 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
