Paul Southworth Eddy, 88 of Choctaw, Oklahoma died January 15, 2008 at his home. He was born on April 24, 1919 in Allen ,Michigan to Theo Van Eddy and Rose Southworth Eddy.
He graduated from high school in St. Clair, Michigan. He received a Bachelors
Degree from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, and his Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas.
He was active in Education beginning as Dean of Boys at the Junior High and
High School and later Principal at Rogers Elementary in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He served as Principal of University High School, which was part of the University of Arkansas, and was an Assistant Instructor in the College of Education. He served as Registrar for the University of Arkansas until he retired in 1984.
Paul joined the Army in 1942 and served through the end of World War II. He
attained the rank of Captain and earned a Bronze Star and numerous other citations.
Paul was a member of the First Christian Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He served on the church board and taught an adult Sunday School Class for many years. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa and Kappa Delta Pi.
Paul was an avid fisherman, golfer and enjoyed nature walks until the day of his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Jo and son Peter Eddy. He is survived
by three daughters, Carolyn and husband Henry Griffith of West Fork, Arkansas; Judy and husband Jack Mullally of Port Angeles, Washington; Patricia and husband Dick Walker of Choctaw, Oklahoma; and son Paul and wife Lisa Eddy of Choctaw, Oklahoma; two sisters, Elaine and husband Ron Vandeman of Holmes Beach, Florida; and Margaret Zimmer of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; his companion Glenda Henson of the home and his Australian Shepard "Dundee" who was his daily walking buddy.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday January 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. McCurry Cemetery near Rudy, Arkansas the Reverend Jim Johnson officiating.
