April 22, 1892 - March 9, 1969
Homer G. Doss, 76, of 325 W. Cedar St., died Sunday in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born April 22, 1892, in Griffin, Ark., the son of Addie and James Robert Doss. He was a retired Lion Oil Co. Refinery employe, and has been a resident of El Dorado since 1939. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Nazarene faith. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Maggie B. Doss; three stepsons, A. G. Crow, Cape Giradeau, Mo., R. F. Crow, El Dorado, and Jerry Crow, Crossett; one stepdaughter, Mrs. M. B. Brewer, El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Aldridge, Waldo, and Mrs. Lea Semmelrogge, Galveston, Tex.; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at the Central Church of the Nazarene with Halbert Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Active pallbearers will be Lynn Doss, Raymond Doss, Dewey Hardin, Siva Knighten, Ray Knighten and Y. Mason. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Mens Bible Class of Central Church of the Nazarene. (El Dorado Times - March 10, 1969)
