Delphia Beaver, 91, of Alma died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, in Fort Smith. She was born July 6, 1917, in Franklin County, Ark. She was a retired cook for Alma Senior Inn and a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Beaver, and a sister, Ruthie Henry. She is survived by three daughters, Betty Eckles of Rudy, Mary Jane Osman of Rudy and Christine Simmons of Alma; three sons, Donald Nucholls of Fort Smith, Wesley Beaver of Van Buren and Arlis Nuckolls of Dyer; one brother, Lester Huggins of Mulberry; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Mount McCurry Cemetery in Rudy under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
