Leonard Carey "Cobb"Herring , 69, of Strong passed away the morning of July 31, 2018 after a long courageous battle with heart disease.

Cobb was born on March 13, 1949 to Leonard Herring and Hazel Hollis. He was a former brick layer; owner of Herring Masonry and El Dorado Block and Brick. He loved being outdoors, especially for hunting, fishing, and working in the flower beds. He was a devoted lover of animals, particularly his dogs: Freckles, Lanie, Baloo, Baby Girl, and Ressie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws; Joe (Charlotte) Mangum.

Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Wanda Mangum Herring; children, Charlie (Melissa) McHenry of Junction City , AR, John Herring of Strong, and Christine (Chad) Jones of Strong. Grandchildren Chase and Kayla McHenry of Junction City, AR, Drake Jones of Strong; sister, Brenda (Buddy) Orren of Milton, FL; brother-in-law Marty (Johnnie) Mangum of Strong.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Knowles Baptist Church in Strong. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 2:00 o'clock P.M., also at Knowles Baptist Church of Strong with Bro. Tommy Nash, Bro. Gerald Perry and Gary McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Centerpoint Cemetery in Strong under the direction of Perry’s Funeral Chapels. Serving as pallbearers are Allen Mattox, Larry McKinnon, Mickey McKinnon, Buddy Ball, Scott Fife, Ken Jones, Mickey Cain, and Tom Mangum.
