Funeral Services for Frank Wofford, 66, of Van Buren, Arnaksas was at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Ocker Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bill Powell and the Rev. Bryan Smith officiating. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery.

A Van Buren School system employee and life-long resident of Crawford County, Wofford died Friday in a Van Buren hospital. Formerly worked 20 years as cashier and teller for First National Bank of Crawford County and five years with Citizens Bank and Trust company of Van Buren.

He was a member of the Van Buren First Baptist Church, the Fine Springs Lodge, Melody Chapter OES 579, the Van Buren Royal Arch, Van Buren Lions Club and chairman of the Van Buren Housing Authority. Wofford was also a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter; Cora Beth; two sisters, Clementine and Julia; and two grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers were the Deacons of the Van Buren First Baptist Church.

The family requests that memorials may be made to the Heart Association. Arrangements were under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.

Sophia Gertrude "Gertie" Wofford, 62 of Van Buren, Arkansas died Saturday, May 25, 1996, at her home. She was the retired school district treasurer for Alma Public Schools and member of First Baptist Church of Van Buren and Melody Chapter Order of Eastern Star where she was a grand matron. The 1952 graduate of Mountainburg High School was the widow of James Alan Wofford and a lifelong resident of Crawford County.

Survivors include one daughter; two sisters; three brothers; and two grandchildren.

Graveside service was held May 30 at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers were his nephews and member of the Alma School Board.
