ART - Juanita G. Art passed away peacefully at Shell Point, Ft. Myers, FL on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. She was born on a farm in Spencer, SD, on October 7, 1924, the daughter of Gertrude and Albert Goodwin.

Juanita attended business school, taught in a one room country school, worked as a secretary, and was always a devoted full time mother. She was an active church member, most recently with the Village Church at Shell Point, and enjoyed Bible study. As a Mary Kay sales representative, Juanita earned the title of "queen of sales" on more than one occasion. She and her husband, Donald, had war time postings in Midland, TX (WWII), and Rapid City, SD (Korean War). After her husband received his degree from Oklahoma University, they moved several times during his career with Westinghouse and raised their family in Kansas City, MO, Monroeville, PA, San Jose, CA, and Richland, WA. They retired in Bella Vista, AR in 1985. Juanita was always happiest when entertaining visitors, cooking, baking, and parenting.

She is survived by 2 children, Donita Art Todd of Okatie, SC, and David Timothy Art of Austin, TX; as well as siblings Beryl Drum, Ida Rath, Preston Goodwin, and Wanda Meyers. She adored her granddaughter, Teale Ridley Art; daughter-in-law, Kerry Ann Ridley; son-in-law Michael Todd; foster son, Gene Griffin, his wife and three sons; and her extended family of many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents, Juanita was predeceased by her husband, Donald Michael Art, son Jon Jerome Art, and sister June Fite. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Juanita Art Memorial Fund, Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
