Delbert G. Summerhill, 72, of 801 Adeline Lane, Van Buren, Arkansas, died Monday at his home. He was a retired employee of Harding Glass Co and a member of Armour Avenue Freewill Baptist Church. He was a lifelong resident of Van Buren.

The body was viewed at Ocker Funeral Home prior to the funeral. Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery.

He is survived by wife, Maggie; two daughters, Pauline of the home and Laura of Van Buren; a son, David of Alma; a sister Opal of Uniontown; a brother, Zack of California, and three grandchildren.

Maggie Summerhill, 84, of Russellville went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 22, 2005, in a Little Rock hospital. She was formerly of Van Buren and a lifelong member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Fort Smith.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She served her country during World War II as a welder in the naval shipyards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Summerhill of 46 years, a daughter, Hazel Hammontree, and a granddaughter, Danita Crow.

Funeral service was at 2 p.m. today at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.

She is survived by two daughters, a son, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
