Warren G. Taylor, 96, of Van Buren, passed away on May 18, 2018 in Fort Smith.
He was born October 29, 1921 in Van Buren, AR to Alan S. Taylor, Sr and Millie M. Potts Taylor.

Warren was a graduate of Van Buren High School and attended Fort Smith Junior College in 1941. He was a retired Postal Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service and a member of Heritage United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force, as tail gunner on the B17 bomber in WW II. During active duty his plane was shot down and he was captured by the German’s and held for 18 months as a POW. Warren volunteered to speak of his experience as a POW to schools, churches and other organizations. He also served on the Sebastian Federal Credit Union, was past Commander of the Fort Smith Chapter of American Ex-Prisoner of War Inc., and he was voted Crawford County Volunteer of the Year. Following his retirement for the U.S. Postal Service in Fort Smith he became an insurance broker, and was a devoted Arkansas Razorback fan and loved the Van Buren High School Football Team.

He is survived by two daughters, Debby Hanna and Diane Hays both of Van Buren; two grandsons, Eric and wife Morgan Hanna of Fort Smith, and Jason Dax Hays and Jennifer Collins of Van Buren; and son-in-law Philip Hays of Van Buren.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren with Full Military Honors all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

Joann M. Taylor passed away on April 27, 2011 at Crawford Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Van Buren at the age of 85.
She was born October 24, 1925 to Guy & Ottie Ferrell of Bonanza, Arkansas.

She worked for a short time as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company but was mostly a homemaker who was devoted to her two children, two grandchildren, and husband of 64 ½ years.

Joann enjoyed being a garden club member, playing bridge with friends, and dancing to Big Band era tunes. She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren.

She is survived by Warren G. Taylor, her husband, her daughters, Debby Hanna and Diane Hays (both of Van Buren), her grandson, Eric Hanna and his wife, Morgan, and her other grandson Dax Hays along with his fiancé Jennifer Collins.

Wes Hillard of Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren presided over the service at Ocker Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 30th at 10:00 A.M., with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.

Pallbearers were Dax Hays, Eric Hanna, Phil Hays, Bill Hess, John Rotert and Billy Intres.
