Obituary

Delno Taylor, of Snowball, Arkansas, was called home on Friday, December 31, 2021, at the age of 89. He was born in Snowball on August 31, 1932, to Seymour Taylor and Floy (Phillips) Taylor, the second youngest of 10 children. He grew up in a time where families were close, and he had a special bond with his brothers and sisters.

Delno worked in the timber and as a cowhand until joining the US Navy during the Korean War. He spent six years in the Navy and travelled the world. In 1958, he participated in Operation Hard Tack 1 in the South Pacific where he helped test atomic bombs.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he came back to Snowball and married Mary Jean Livingston. They had one daughter, Pamela Taylor Yancey. Delno joined the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America in California and worked as a union carpenter and millwright for 30 years, all over the United States.

He loved to fish and coon hunt, but his passion was horses. In 1980, he organized the Snowball-Falling Water Trail Ride and he continued to lead the ride for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Seymour and Floy Taylor, 7 siblings, Montene (Taylor) Brown, Troy Taylor, James Taylor, Claude Taylor, Alma (Taylor) Rea, Novel (Taylor) Evans and Syvilla “Pat” (Taylor) Hines; his beloved first wife and mother of his daughter, Mary Jean (Livingston) Taylor, his second wife, Willie Jean (Horn) Taylor and his lifelong friend, Eli Tapia.

Delno is survived by his daughter, Pamela Yancey and husband Danny of Omaha; his grandchildren, Josh Taylor Lee and wife, Brittany of Snowball, Ashley Waters and husband, Brad of Harrison and Justin Woods of Yellville; step-granddaughters, Lindsey Wallis and husband George and Sady Campbell and husband Jessie; great grandchildren, Brittany Langdon, Dalton McClung, Brady Hays, Maddux Hays, Jaxon Lee, Jase Lee and Emmerson Waters.
