Bruce Rockland Merrick, 66, of Jacksonville left this world on Saturday, March 3, 2018 to meet his Heavenly Father. Bruce was born Tuesday, September 25, 1951 in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He worked for several years as Store Manager for United Paint, and also worked several years as the Warehouse Manager for National Travelers R.V. Center. His most recent position prior to his retirement which was medically necessary was for Baptist Hospital North Little Rock where he served 10 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the CCU. Bruce enjoyed laughter and was always ready with a joke, he was also an avid music lover and a fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks.
He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur R. Merrick, and sister Linda L. Merrick.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Bobbie Merrick of Jacksonville, son Andrew J. Merrick of Jacksonville, mother Margaret A. Merrick of Jacksonville, sister Sherry Rausch (Dan) of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, nieces Danette Cox (Wade) of Haw River, North Carolina, Micah Whiteman (Mark) of Owensboro, Kentucky, Brittany Epps (Ryan) of Madison, Alabama, sister in law, Barbara Kidd of Jacksonville and special family friend Barbara Rausch of Huntsville, Ohio along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
