Buster
June 21, 1915 - July 22, 1971
Buster B. Smith, 56 years old widelly known resident of Van Buren, Arkansas owner and operator of Smith Cleaners died Thursday morning, July 22, 1971 in a local hospital after an illness of two weeks.
A native of Van Buren, he was born June 21, 1915, the son of Andrew Jackson and Julia May (Smith) Smith and was a member of Trinity Episcopal church. He attended school in Van Buren and was also a member of the Fort Smith Gun Club.
Survivors are his wife, Mary (Edwards) Smith of the home at 1211 North 11th Street; two daughters, Juanita of Van Buren and Patricia of Fort Smith; a brother Jim Smith of Van Buren; and four grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Friday in the sanctuary of the Trinity Episcopal church. Thad Rudd, vicar of the church officiated. Burial was in Gracelawn cemetery conducted by Ocker Funeral Home.

Mary Elizabeth Edwards Smith, 90, of Van Buren died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
She was an owner of Brownwood Manor Nursing Home, former owner and operator of Buster Smith Cleaners and an Episcopalian.
She was the widow of Buster Smith.
Memorial service was 4 p.m. Monday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren.
She is survived by two daughters, Juanita Broaddrick of Van Buren and Patricia Adams of Cedarville; ; four grandsons, Kevin Hickey and Kelly Hansson both of Fort Smith, Cullen Gardenhire of Muskogee, OK, Kim Huffstettler of Van Buren; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
