Sterling
February 7, 1884 - May 19, 1963
Sterling T. Slaven, 79 years old, Route 2, VAn Buren, died Sunday afternoon, may 19, 1963 in a Van Buren hospital. His health had been failing for the last few years.
Mr. Slaven was a retired farmer and stockman. He had resided in Crawford county for 73 years and at Rena for more than fifty years.
His wife Mrs. Tessie Slaven died unexpectedly Wednes, April 24, 1963.
Survivors are five children, nine grandchildren, one brother, one sister, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in City Heights (crawford county) Methodist Church. The pastor, H. Doyle Millard was the officiating minister. Burial beside the grave of his wife was in Gracelawn cemetery. The funeral directions were by Ocker Funeral Home.
