Nina Hawthorn Langley, age 85, of Pine Bluff, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019.

Born January 25, 1934 at Hot Springs, she was a daughter of the late Guy Elmer Hawthorn and Ella Mae Layne Hawthorn. She was a graduate of Cutter-Morning Star High School and Henderson State Teachers College.

Mrs. Langley taught Home Economics and Consumer Education for 37 years. For 30 years she taught at White Hall High School, where she sponsored the Future Homemakers of America.

A resident of Pine Bluff since 1958, she was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years and was a member of the United Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by seven siblings, Elizabeth Kelley, Don Hawthorn, Elmer Hawthorn, Pansy Hawthorn, Glenn Hawthorn, Ruby Swanigan, and Richard Hawthorn.

Survivors include her husband, James Coy Langley, who she married on August 26, 1956; two sons, Randall Langley (Kristen Gatlin) and Lealdon Langley (Robin Katz); four grandchildren, Andrew Chase Langley, Ryan Langley, Aaron Langley, and Melissa Langley; four step-grandchildren, Britan Gatlin, Tobin Gatlin, Max Sussman, and Rachel Sussman; two great-grandchildren, Weston Langley and Aiden Hamill; and seven siblings, Doyle Hawthorn, Bernice Bewley, Dan Hawthorn, J. D. Hawthorn, Grace Koller, Grady Hawthorn, and Gilbert Hawthorn.

Mrs. Langley’s funeral service will be Monday, November 25, 2019, 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Morey officiating. The graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Hot Springs by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
