Marvin Shelton, 79, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at a local hospital.

He was a member of Evangel Temple Church, retired from BF Goodrich and Galloway Tire Company and an Army veteran of World War II.
He was honored by congressman Asa Hutchinson in 1998 for his participation in five major battles including the D-day invasion of Normandy. He was awarded six medals including the Silver Star.

Survivors include his wife, the former Martha Ann Muck of Van Buren; one daughter, Marilyn Rogers of Fort Smith; two stepdaughters Sunny Brasuell of Fort Smith and Marie Cagle of Alma; four brothers, Raymond Shelton of Tulsa, Bennie Shelton of El Dorado, James Shelton of Bonanza and Larry Shelton of Texas; two sisters, Marie Bowden and Doris Rist, both of Tulsa; one grandson, Stacey Rogers of Fort Smith; six stepgrandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held June 15 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Burial was held at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Stacey Paul Rogers, Dale Brasuell Jr., Toney Brasuell, Tracy Brasuell and Bill Morgan.

Martha Ann Muck Shelton, 87 of Fort Smith, AR passed away Sunday, August 16, 2009 in Fort Smith. She was born on May 22, 1922 in Heavener, OK.

She was a member of Evangel Temple and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Marvin Shelton; her parents , M.H. and Ollie Muck; a sister ,Mary Nell Delcambre and brothers Vernon, Earl and Chester Muck.

Graveside services were Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral home of Fort Smith.

She was survived by three daughters, Margie Cagle of Alma, Sunny Brasuell of Van Buren and Marilyn Rogers of Fort Smith; a sister, Dorothy Jones and a brother, Norman Muck and his wife Lea, all of Fort Smith. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
