David Samples, 91 of Van Buren passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 at his home with his daughter and sister beside him.
He was born on April 22, 1929, in Seminole, Oklahoma.

He retired as a heavy equipment operator building many California freeways.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Arvilla Schopp Samples; his parents Jessie and Bill Todd; his sister Dixie Beachman and his father Homer H. Samples.

He is survived by a daughter Joyce Rodriquez of Washington; a son, David Lee Samples of California; a sister, Shirley Vange of Van Buren; three step-daughters, Kathi Carter of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jean Olivares of Saginaw, Michigan and Dawn Helms of Spiro, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 12 (Noon), Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Arvilla Louise Samples, 71 of Van Buren died Thursday, November 3, 2011 in her home.

She was a beautician and a member of the Van Buren First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, David Samples of the home; four daughters, Kathi Carter of Baton Rouge, Jean Olivares of Saginaw, Michigan, Louisiana, Dawn Helms of Spiro, Oklahoma and Vicki Walker of Joplin, Missouri; one brother, John E. Schopp III of Illinois; a sister-in-law, Shirley Vange of Van Buren; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday November 7th 2011 at 1:00pm at Ocker Chapel in Van Buren with Reverend Jose Dabdub officiating.
Burial will be at Gracelawn Cemetery.
