V.R. Richmond, 79, of Van Buren died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 20, 1922, in the Rena Community and was a retired insurance adjuster. He was a member of City Heights United Methodist Church, a member of the Uniontown Masonic Lodge No. 395 having received his 50-year pin and was a member of the Amrita Grotto. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren. He is survived by his wife, Florine; a daughter, Phyllis Mallard of Van Buren; two sons, Larry V. Richmond of Fort Worth, Texas and Michael Richmond of Van Buren; four sisters, Katherine Scott of Las Cruces, N.M., Josephine Cox and Elizabeth Mason, both of Van Buren, and Emma Lou Harrell of Dothan, Ala.; two brothers, Paul Richmond of New Castle, Okla., and Harold Richmond of Van Buren; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mike Deese, Ben and Evan Mallard, Ronald Mason, Gary Deal, Dale Brasuell, Brian Jeremiah and Don Richmond. Florine A. Richmond 97 of Van Buren passed away Monday, May 3, 2021.
She was a homemaker; a member of City Heights Methodist Church in Van Buren and a fifty year member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Richmond; both parents Arthur and Anna (Hassman) Harder; one sister Velma Warburton; two brothers Robert and Raymond Harder.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday May 7, 2021 at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home Van Buren. The family will visit with relatives and friends Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 5-7 P.M. at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.
She is survived by one daughter Phyllis Thomas and husband Greg of Van Buren; two sons Larry Richmond, Michael Richmond and fiancé Heather all of Van Buren; one sister Fern Raleigh of McPherson, Kansas; four grandchildren Tiffany Barnett, Tasha Heath, Ben and Evan Mallard; four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ben Mallard, Evan Mallard, Michael Barnett, Ronald Mason, Richard Mason and Stanley Clark.
