Jim Reeves, 76, of Van Buren, died March 1, 2009 in his home. He was born May 30, 1932 in Mulberry, AR.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and fought with the 1st cavalry division in Korea. He was a member, usher, and greeter at the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church in Van Buren, as well as a 32 degree mason with Sebastian Lodge 706. He was the co-owner and operator of Reeves and Son Arkansas Appliance Service.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Lee Reeves; his parents, Ruby & Clarence Reeves, and a brother, Billy Joe Reeves.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; two daughters, Dana Reeves-Cypert of Van Buren, AR and Donna Nichols of Little Rock, AR; one son, Steven Reeves of Van Buren, AR; one sister, Sue Sanders of Mulberry, AR; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral service was Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Ricky Dickens, Mike Faucher, Charles Pendergrass, Glenn Warren, Timothy Bell, John Mings, Johnny Belt, and Gary Moore.
