BELLA VISTA — Mary Louise Hanlon formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died Dec. 16, 2019, in Little Rock. She was born Sept. 27, 1927, in Madison, Wis., to Joseph Herman Dahmen and Regina Grosse Dahmen.
She moved from the Chicago suburbs to Bella Vista in 1985. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, St. Bernard's Women's Club, and a representative for Care & Share for over 14 years. She was a Girl Scout leader, an avid golfer, bowler and card player.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, Bernard Hanlon, brothers Al, John and James Dahmen and sisters Clara Dee and Lorena Gordon.
She is survived by sons James Hanlon Sr. and wife Bev of New York and Michael Hanlon and wife Sandy of Illinois; daughters Patty Gotway and husband Jerry of Indianapolis, Ind., and Kathy Hanlon of Little Rock, Ark.; "adopted daughter" Cindy Ford of Rogers, Ark.; sister Dolores "Dolly" Shivler of Madison, Wis.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and beloved dog Sophie.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1 St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, Ark., at 11 a.m., Jan. 18, 2020. A memorial lunch will be celebrated in Chicago in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bella Vista Library, 11 Dickens Place, Bella Vista, Ark., 72714, or the Bella Vista Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 5348, Bella Vista, Ark., 72714.
