July 9, 1934 - February 18, 2012
Franklin Leon Putman Sr., 77, of Van Buren died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, in a local hospital.
He was retired from American General Life Insurance Company. He was of the Methodist Faith, a 1957 graduate of the University of Arkansas, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and a lifelong resident of Van Buren.
He was preceded in death his parents, Grady & Flora Putman; a brother, W.L. Putman who died in 1949; and a daughter, Valarie Lynn Putman.
He is survived by his wife, June Putman of the home; a son, Franklin Leon Putman Jr. and wife Brenda of Van Buren; two grandchildren, Branndon Putman and Jennifer Putman of Van Buren.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Eric Ramirez, Coy Simpson, Johnny Stephens, James Stephens and Jeff Putman.
