December 19, 1900 - April 25, 1989

Grady Putman, 88, of Van Buren, Arkansas died Tuesday, April 25, 1989, in Crawford Memorial Hospital.

A life long Van Buren resident, he retired as owner of the Putman IGA Store after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Heritge United Methodist Church, the Gracelawn Cemetery board of directors for 32 years, a life member of the Van Buren Masonic Lodge No. 6 and Fort Smith Scottish Rite and a 50-year member of the Van Buren Lions Club.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Heritage United Methodist Church, with Masonic graveside service at Gracelawn Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Gracelawn Cemetery Board and the Masonic Lodge.

Officiating was the Revs. Guy Whitney and Roy Poyner, with arrangements by Ocker Funeral Home.

Flora
May 2, 1905 - February 23, 1985

Flora Jones Putman, 79 of 1120 Dechard St, Van Buren, died Saturday, February 23, 1985 in a Fort Smith hospital.

She was a homemaker and a former schoolteacher. A life long resident of Van Buren, she was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church.

She was survived by her husband, Grady; a son, Leon of Van Buren; a sister, Fairy Chilton of Carmi, Ill.; a brother, Cly Jones of Tulsa; and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held at St. John's United Methodist Church with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery.
