Leon 'Bud' Pitchford died December 25, 2008.
He was a heavy equipment operator, was a part owner of the 64-71 Highway Water Company and helped install the water line between Van Buren and Alma. He was a member of the Van Buren First Baptist Church, a 32nd degree Mason and a 50 year member of the Van Buren Masonic Lodge No. 6, a member of the Royal Arch Lodge Chapter 3, Shriners of North America, Amrita Grotto, the Consistery and a member of the Melody Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star No. 579.
He was a U.S. Navy Seabee veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Schuler.

Funeral was held December 30, 2008 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Imogene Pitchford of the home; one duaghter, Freda Peebles of Van Buren, one sister, Mary Barnes of Burnett, Texas; and two brothers, Ronald and Hap Pitchford , both of Hartford.

Imogene Pitchford, 97 of Van Buren passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 at a local nursing home.

Along with her husband, she was involved with the 64-71 Water Company between Van Buren and Alma. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Van Buren and Melody Chapter Order of Eastern Star #579.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon “Bud” Pitchford and one daughter, Sarah Schuler.

Funeral service will be 1 PM Monday, November 3, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

She is survived by one daughter, Freda Peebles of Van Buren.

Family will visit with relatives and friends Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 2-4 PM at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Jim Powers, Dale Balls, Jim Starbird, Delmar Long, John Stark and John Rotert.
