Harlan Eugene Pixley, 56, of Fort Smith died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, in his home. He was the former owner and operator of Cutrite Cleaners in Fort Smith and a member of the Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Rupert and Gladys Pixley.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by one son, Matthew Pixley of Fort Smith; two aunts, Belva Brown Dodd of Fort Smith and Sue Looman of Van Buren; one uncle, W.R. Teague of Alma; three sisters, LaBetha Parks of Spring Hill, Tenn., Aletha Ray of Rudy and Emmetta Hawkins of Van Buren; one brother, Ben Pixley of Van Buren; one grandchild, Brandon Pixley; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ersie Kinnard, Rick Young, Russell and Roderick Ray, David and Kevin Pixley, Larry Stern and Rex Brown.
The family will visit with friends Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson St., Van Buren.
