Ms. Lorene Parks of Alma, Arkansas died Tuesday, September 16, 2008, in her home. she was born in Haggersville, (?). Ms. Parks was a devout Christian and a devoted mother. She worked on farms in North Dakota and Oklahoma. Ms. Parks worked in the garment factory in Wichita, Kansas; and the kitchen at Johnson County Hospital in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Ms. Parks was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years: Buford Parks.
She is survived by a son: Bobby Freeman and his wife: marie of Alma, Arkansas; a step-daughter: Bonnie Anderson of Dayton, Ohio; three step-sons: Harry Parks and his wife: Katie of Dayton, Ohio, Bob Parks, also from Dayton, Ohio; and Glenn Parks and his wife: Carol of Boring, Oregon; 32 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren and many dear friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 19, 2008, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home chapel in Van Buren, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
