Dorothy Horton Nelson Spangler, 93, of Ceres, CA, formerly of Dora, OK, was born December 12, 1915 in Cecil, Arkansas. She passed away September 11, 2009 in Ceres, California where she moved to in 1999.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971, Vic F. Nelson of Alma, AR. She later married Kenneth Spangler of Dora, OK and remained his devoted wife until his death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by 9 siblings.
She had been a member of Mount View Methodist Church of Alma since 1954.
She passed away in Ceres, California in the home of her brother and sister-in-law J.D. and Charlene Horton who have lovingly cared for her the past six months. Her gentle spirit and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by a sister, Jo Ann Mullins of Sun City, CA; one brother, J.D. Horton of Ceres, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
