Bonnie Ruth Fleming Christie Merrifield, age 81, passed away Monday May 19, 2014 in Fayetteville. She was born July 9, 1932 the daughter of William LaFete and Mae Louise Cole Parks.

Ruth was involved for many years in Bible Study Fellowship as well as Bible Studies at Rolling Hills Baptist Church and her Church Circle. She was an active member of the Maple Hills Garden Club and past member of Garden and Nature society of Northwest Arkansas having opened her garden for their first "Thru the Garden Gate" tour. Along with her passion and love for working in her garden was the nurturing care for her family.

She is survived by her husband William Merrifield; a daughter Christine Bronson/Carr and her husband George; two sons Wendel Allen Fleming, Danny Edward Fleming and his wife Regina, two brothers Preston Howard Parks and his wife Helen, Kenneth (Joe) Parks and his wife Dixie; a sister Iva Jean Lewis and her husband Jay; grandchildren Shane and his wife Tammy, Clay and his wife Jennifer Bronson, Josh Fleming and his wife Kim, and Dancie Shrum and her husband Scott, Eric Fleming, Holly M, Fleming, and Julie Fleming.

Interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
