R.C. Meadows, 86, of Van Buren, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Ashton Place in Barling, Arkansas.

While working several years with W B Smith Clothing Store in downtown Van Buren he led music at First Baptist Church in Van Buren and Alma. He moved his family to Arlington, Texas to attend Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas obtaining a degree in Church Education. Upon graduating, he served at several churches as Music, Youth, and or Education Minister at Oak Cliff Baptist Church and Haven Heights Baptist Church,both in Fort Smith. When retired, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Van Buren where he led music for his Sunday School Class.

R.C. was welcomed into heaven by his heavenly Father and his family who preceded him in death; his wife of 63 years Mildred Irene Meadows, and six sisters, Walsie Harper, Ruth Blankenship, Verba Moore, Maxine Minton, Castle Winfrey, Martha Jean Meadows; two brothers,Vincent and Bolin Meadows,

Funeral service will be 10 AM Tuesday, December 22,2015 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren, Arkansas.

He is survived by his four children Gary Meadows and wife Mary of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Mrs. Becky Teague and husband Randy of Conway, Arkansas, Larry Meadows and wife Renee of Fort Smith, Mark Meadows and wife Cynthia of Springdale, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, James, Hannah, Jennifer, Jonathan, Jessica, Joshua, Emily, Grant, Cole, Andrea; eighteen Great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Mike Hurst Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church in Van Buren, Arkansas.

Mildred Meadows, 87, of Van Buren, died Friday, June 15th at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She was born Mildred Irene Perkins, April 30, 1925 in Ravenna, Ohio.

She married R.C. Meadows on July 30, 1949.
She was a model homemaker. She raised four children; sewed clothes; gardened; canned fruits and vegetables; cooked delicious entrees and desserts. She knew how to quilt, embroider and crochet. She was active in the church through her lifetime, including singing in the church choir and serving in the ladies auxiliary. She was an avid reader. Over the years, she worked as a telephone operator, substitute schoolteacher and secretary.

She was preceded in the death by her parents, Forrest and Pauline Lile and her brother, Floyd Perkins.

She is survived by her husband, R.C. Meadows; her brother, Leonard Perkins and wife, Joni; her sister, Lucy Pickle and husband, Raymond; her four children, son, Gary Meadows and wife, Mary; daughter, Becky Snow; son, Larry Meadows and wife, Renee; son, Mark Meadows and wife, Cynthia; ten grandchildren: James and wife, Tawnya Meadows; Hannah and husband, Lennie Thompson; Jennifer, Jessica, Jonathon and Joshua Snow; Emily and husband, Travis Brown; Grant Meadows; Andrea and Cole Meadows; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday June 19th 2012 at 10:00am at First Baptist Church Chapel of Van Buren with Rev. Pepper Bourlon officiating.
Burial will be at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
