Clyde L. McDaniel, 77, of Van Buren passed on Monday, April 14, 2003, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was an installer-repairman for Pacific Bell in Medford, Ore. where he retired after 37 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, the VFW Post No. 8845, the DAV Commander’s Club, B.P.O.E. No. 944 of Ashland, Ore., and the Communication Workers of America. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lydia McDaniel, his brother, Henry McDaniel. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eve; a daughter, Patty and husband, Marty Price of Ratcliff; a son, Russell McDaniel and his wife, Vickie of Van Buren; and three grandchildren, Mandy Helfrich, Bryan McDaniel and Brittany Price.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Van Buren. Graveside service will be at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Steve, Brad, Randy and Mark McDaniel, Mike Jones, Fred Williams and Melvin Brasuell.

Eva Mae McDaniel, 83 of Van Buren was called to heaven on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.
She was born in Seminole, Oklahoma to Russell and Letha Bryan on March 16, 1933 and was the fifth of six children.

Eva enjoyed making ceramics, quilting, sewing, entertaining, camping, fishing, crabbing, dog sitting and making holiday crafts for loved ones. She graduated from Holdenville High School in 1952 where she was a cheerleader and Basketball Homecoming Queen and married Clyde Lee McDaniel the same year. They moved to Oregon in 1954 and had two children; Russell Edward and Patricia Ann. Eve worked as a primary school teacher assistant for the Oregon School District until she retired and moved back to Van Buren in 1979. She was a very special lady to many relatives, caregivers and friends. Eve was a breast cancer survivor, everyone’s cheerleader and a “fighter” to the very end. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and a twelve time Gold Medal winner at the Senior Olympics. She served as President of Greenhurst Resident Council and was Ms. Greenhurst 2011 and third runner up at the State Queen Pageant.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde McDaniel; son, Russell McDaniel; her parents, Russell and Letha (Turner) Bryan; one sister, Ruth Olson; brothers, Harold and J.E. Bryan and her “beloved” dachshund “Daisy”.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Walden officiating with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

She is survived by daughters, Patricia Price and husband, Marty of Ratcliff, Mikell Miller and husband, Trent of Ashland, Oregon; sister, Mary Kieff of Medford, Oregon; brother, Bill Bryan and wife, Elaine of Eugene, Oregon; daughter-in-law; Vickie McDaniel of Van Buren; grandchildren, Myranda Kuykendall and husband, Lance, Bryan McDaniel and wife, Emily, Brittany Farrar and husband, Trever; great grandchild, Gunnar Farrar. She is also survived by her endearing best friend, Polly Rothermel and many beloved nieces, nephews, friends and caregivers.

Pallbearers will be Bryan McDaniel, Lance Kuykendall, Trever Farrar, Brad McDaniel, Randy McDaniel, Mark McDaniel and Dave Barker.
Honorary pallbearer will be Steve McDaniel.
