Florence E. McCord, 85, of Fort Smith passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, in a local hospital.
She was a retired telephone operator for AT&T and a member of First Assembly of God in Van Buren. She was formerly of Van Buren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis McCord; her parents, Lee and Rowena Caviness; and a brother, Russell Caviness.
Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gracelawn Cemetery Arbor with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
She is survived by a son, Charles "Chuck" McCord and wife Sharon of Barling; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; a special niece, Peggy Bowman of Van Buren; and a special cousin, Beth Duncan of Hot Springs.
Pallbearers are Ron Medley, Mike Papacoda, Steve Jones, Richard Weaver, Benny Adkins and Larry Robison.
