October 26, 1922 - August 6, 2002
James Edward Lyons, 79, of Mountainburg died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II, member of Mountainburg Masonic Lodge and
West Arkansas Consistory and the Pigeon Creek Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Lyons and two sons, Jimmy R. and James Howard Lyons. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with burial and Masonic service at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by three daughters, Tommie Vestal of Greenwood, Doris Moore of Chester and Vicki Grimes of San Francisco; daughter-in-law, Lynn Lyons of Roland; a sister, Pauline Powell of Cape Coral, Fla.; a brother, Thomas Lyons of San Diego; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Lance and Eric Vestal, Richard Tatum, Gil Lyons, Joey McGee and Jackie Moore.
