James Russell Mathews, 83, of Van Buren died Tuesday, November 13, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a retired cattleman and worked many years for the Crawford County Highway Department and was also a deputy sheriff for Tommie Willbanks and Bill Vickery. He was a member of the Oliver Springs Free Will Baptist Church, a member of the Fine Springs No. 439 Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge for 50 years, the Van Buren Chapter No. 3 Royal Arch Masons and the Crawford County Farm Bureau. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include is wife, two sons; one grandson; three granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; two sisters; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.

June 20, 1921 - April 20, 2014

Imogene Mathews, 92 of Van Buren passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 in a local nursing home.

She was retired manager from the Arkansas Revenue Office in Van Buren and a homemaker. She was a member of the Oliver Springs Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Esther (Christ) Canada; one sister, Sarah Canada; three brothers, Roy, Doyle & Jack Canada.

Funeral service will be at 10 AM Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

She was survived by two sons, Kenneth Mathews of Siloam Springs, Aubrey Mathews of Van Buren; three granddaughters, Audra Peters, of Mountainburg, Kim Spiking of Denver, Colorado; Susan Mathews of Fayetteville; one grandson, Rusty Mathews of Siloam Springs; four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Hall, Ronald Smith, Richard Marion, Terry Canada,
Todd Brammer, Barney LaRue, Don Martin
