Austin B. Maxwell, 89 of Van Buren, died Wednesday August 15, 2007 in a local nursing home.
He was a resident of Van Buren, a retired carpenter and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific aboard the USS Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alvesta Kimes Maxwell; his parents John and Cordelia Maxwell; sisters, Evelyn and Ruth; and brothers, John, Lon, David and Howard Maxwell.
He was survived by a brother, Clyde Maxwell of Van Buren; six nieces, Lois Hill, Ruth Davis, Shirley Perkins, Floy Jordan, Connie Maxwell, Darlene Maxwell; two nephews, Myron Maxwell and John Bert Maxwell; several great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was held at Gracelawn Arbor with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery.
