Eugenio (Eugene) "Gene" Lopez, 73, of Van Buren died Thursday, September 25, 2003, in his home. He was a boiler operator for AE Staley Manufacturing Co. in Van Buren, a member of First Assembly of God and a retired Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Lopez; a son, Dale Lopez and a brother, David Lopez.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2003, at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his second wife, two daughters, four stepdaughters, three sons, two sister, seven brothers, 35 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Helen L. Lopez, 58, of Van Buren, Arkansas died Saturday, June 11, 1994, at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters; three sons; father and stepmother; three sisters; one brother; and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery.
