Paul L. Hurst, 95 of Van Buren passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014 in a local nursing home.

He was owner/manager of Peoples Warehouse Grocery; a U.S. Army Veteran servicing in WWII having received the AP Theater Ribbon, two bronze stars, Philippine Liberation ribbon, a former Rotarian; Chairman of Civil Service Commission in Van Buren. He was a member & deacon of the First Baptist Church in Van Buren and a former chairman of the Deacons, trustee of the church and taught Sunday school for 42 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lee Mae (Bolling) Hurst, one son, Paul Wayne Hurst, his parents, John & Minerva (Bredrick) Hurst and one son-in-law, Larry Frey.

Funeral service will be at 10 AM Thursday, July 3, 2014 at First Baptist Church Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda Lee Frey of Fort Smith; one son, Dr. Mike Hurst of Van Buren; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Mark Hurst, Nathan Hurst, Joseph Paul Hurst, Ben Robinson, Kevin Williamson and Ben Goodman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Mike Hurst's Sunday School and deacons of the First Baptist Church in Van Buren.

Lee Mae Hurst, 95 of Van Buren passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 in a local nursing home.

She was a homemaker, a graduate of Van Buren High School in 1934, a member of the First Baptist Church of Van Buren, where she began teaching Preschool Sunday School in 1939.

She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Wayne Hurst; her parents, C.J. & Mary Bolling and seven brother and sisters.

She is survived by her loving husband of 72 ½ years, Paul L. Hurst; one daughter, Linda Lee Frey of Ft. Smith; one son, Dr. Michael Hurst & wife, Martha of Van Buren; one brother, George Bolling & wife Pat of Dallas, TX; a sister, Rose Mary Rice of Long View, TX; one daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Porter Hurst of Van Buren; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday September 12th 2011 at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church Van Buren with Dr. Scott Maze officiating.
Burial will be in Gracelawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lee Goodman, Kevin Williamson, Dr. Mark Hurst, Nathan Hurst, Joseph Hurst and Taylor Bates.
