The Reverend Alvin Hunter, 86, of Alma, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 in Fort Smith.
He was born May 19, 1926 in the Yoestown Community to Burt and Louise Hunter.

He was a self-employed carpenter and a retired Assembly of God Minister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, and a grandson, Montie Burkhart.
Husband of Hazel M Hogue Hunter

He is survived by a daughter, Azanna Hughes and husband Charles of Alma; a son, Larry Hunter of Alma; a sister, Allie Stiles of Lake Havasu, AZ; a granddaughter, Kimbra Jacobson of Muskogee; four great-grandchildren, Ashlee Davis of Cabot, AR, Aaron Burkhart of Alma, Alexis Carpenter, and Kelly Jacobson, both of Muskogee; and three great-great-granddaughters, Brooke, Kaylee, and Sydney Davis.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be J.B. Carter, Buddy Rounds, Roy Raines, Terry Foley, Ray Stiles, and Junior Stiles.
