Henry C. Hink, 84 years old of 1122 Ozier Street, Van Buren, Arkansas died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon, July 15, 1971 in a local hospital following a long period of bad health.

A widely known area resident, he was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas May 14, 1889 , the son of William Frederick and Martha Ellen Spangler Hink and had made his home in Van Buren, Arkansas since 1907. He was married to the former Jennie Alice Remes in Van Buren on December 31, 1910 by a Mr. Bates. Methodist minister.

Mr. Hink was employed at the Fort Smith Light and Traction Company in Van Buren before it became Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company and retired from OG & E in 1954. He was a member of the OG & E Pioneer Club and the Trailblazers, which is a 25 year service organization of the company. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church. City Council. Masonic lodge, Amrita Grotto, Royal Arch Masons and honorary member of the Van Buren Lions Club. He also served as an Alderman for many years. In July, 1970 he was the recipient of the Distinguished Citizens Award from the Crawford County Historical Society.

Survivors are his wife, Jennie Alice Hink (now deceased); two sons, H. C. of Bentonville and Maurice of Culver, Minn; two daughters, Hazel of Van Buren and Martha of Fort Smith; two sisters, Ona of Arizona and Hazel of Fresno, California; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held in Ocker Memorial chapel at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Virgil Kuhlenascmidt. pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Edwin Burris, pastor of the of Wood Mmemorial Christain church officiated.

Mrs. Jennie Hink, 84 years old, of 1122 Ozler Street, Van Buren, Arkansas, died Wednesday, May 19, 1976 in a Fort Smith, Arkansas hospital.

She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on October 2, 1891 to E. J. and Hermina Remes and had resided in Van Buren for more than 75 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and honorary member of the Order of Eastern Star, and was the wife of H. C. Hink who died in July, 1971.

Survivors are two daughters, Hazel of Van Buren, Arkansas and Martha of Fort Smith; two sons, Dr. H. C. Hink of Bentonville and Maurice of Culver, Minn; two sisters, Ida of Van Buren and Amelia of Fayetteville; 15 graqndchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ocker Memorial Chapel. Richard Young and Jack Cutbirth officiated. Burial was in Gracelawn cemetery.

Grandsons served as casket bearers were, Jim, Pete, John, Frank, Steve and David.
