Tom Harris, 86, of Van Buren, Arkansas, died Friday, January 29, 2010 in Fort Smith. He was born August 26, 1923 in Alma, Arkansas.
He married Oleta Faye Smith in 1948. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was stationed on the U.S.S. Enterprise in the pacific Theatre and the U.S.S. Enterprise received a presidential citation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oleta Faye Harris; his parents, Charlie and Nora Harris; a sister, Joann Stubbs; three brothers, Duel Harris, Cathey Autry, and Ted Harris.
He is survived by one son, David Harris and his wife, Rosemary of Van Buren, AR; one sister, Marilyn Jones of Alma, AR; three brothers, Bud Harris of Alma, AR, Bill Harris of Alma, AR, and Bob Harris of Fort Smith, AR; his loving granddaughter, Shelly Kelly and her husband Pat of Fayetteville, AR; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Friday, February 5, 2010 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel with burial with military honors at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

Mrs. Faye Harris, 81, of Van Buren died Sunday, July 6, 2008, in a local nursing home.
She was a retired employee of Southwest Rebuilders of Fort Smith, a homemaker, a Baptist and a member of the American Legion.
Graveside service was 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren, with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Tom of the home; a son, David Harris and his wife Rosemary of Van Buren; a sister, Jo Harrison of Morongo Valley, Calif.; a granddaughter, Shelly Kelly and her husband Pat of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.
