Beverley Ann Freeman, R.N., M.S.N. went to dwell with the Lord on Saturday, February 6, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 87. She is preceded in death by her dear adoptive Mother, Clare M. Freeman, R.N. and family members. She was born in Little Rock, Ark. and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy. She received her nursing diploma from St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, Mo., and earned her baccalaureate and masters degree in nursing from St. Louis University. She was Director of Nursing at Warner Brown Hospital School of Nursing, Eldorado, Ark. and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, New Orleans. She held Nursing Administrator positions at health care facilities in the private, state and federal sectors, including State of Oklahoma Teaching Hospitals, Oklahoma City and Veterans Affairs Health Care System. She worked five VA Hospitals and served as Chief Nurse in three. She retired with 26 years of service from South TX Health Care System, Audie Murphy Division, where she served as Chief Nurse for 13 years. During her career, she fostered a cooperative relationship with Schools of Nursing, held associate professor appointments, and encouraged staff members to persue academic studies. She was always involved in professional and civic organizations, serving on boards and special projects. In retirement, she endeavored to serve others through her Church Ministries and civic activities. She is survived by cousins dear friends.
