Earl Harvey Anderson, 90, of Woodstown, N.J., formerly of Bella Vista, died Friday, July 24, 2009, at Friends Village in Woodstown, N.J. He was born Oct. 13, 1918, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Paul I. Anderson and Eve M. Anderson.

He grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical
engineering from Iowa State University in 1940. He married Hester E. Kunkel on June 7, 1942, in Albion, Neb. received a Master of Business Administration degree and a doctorate from the University of Nebraska.

He was a World War II veteran, having served as a captain in the Transportation Corps.

He and his wife retired to Bella Vista in 1985.

He was a member of the Community Church of Bella Vista.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hester Anderson.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Garrison of Pittsgrove, N.J.; three sons, Steven E. Anderson of Cave Creek, Ariz., Paul L. Anderson of Apple Valley, Minn., and Bruce "Andy" W. Anderson of Omaha, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements were by Layton Funeral Home of Woodstown.
