Ilda Fern Vetetoe, age 72 of Springdale, Ark., died on October 24, 2021, in Fayetteville. She was born on May 2, 1949, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Elmer Clarence Boatright and Carrie Sutton Boatright. Ilda married the love of her life Benny Wayne Vetetoe, Sr on August 19, 1963, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Faith Assembly and First Assembly, Trinity Fellowship, and had recently been attending CLC in Fayetteville where she was active in the Griefshare support group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Vetetoe, Sr.; parents, Elmer and Carrie Boatright; brother, Preston Campbell; sister, Carrie (Tootsie) Smith, sisters, Silvia Bonelli, sister, Phylis ward; and brother, Jerry Boatright.
Ilda is survived by two daughters, Lecia Layton and her husband, Tom, of Rogers, and Teva Cossey and her husband, Rick, of Springdale; one son, Benny Vetetoe, Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Springdale; her sister, Virginia Wales of Kansas City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Kara Beth Goins, Tenesha (Tei) Whorton, Kelsey Meeks, Josh Cossey, Bella Cossey, Lee Cossey, Kristy Jernigan, Michael Vetetoe, Lynzie Lambert, and Blake Vetetoe; 15 great-grandchildren, Katherine, Ian, Layton, Asher, Aryanna, Alexandra, Madelyn, Tito, Onyx, Carson, Colton, Will, Riley, Rex and Jackson.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Springdale First Assembly of God. Burial will follow at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, October 29, 2021, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
