Mr. John T. Butler of Alma, formerly of Van Buren died Wednesday, October 14, in a local nursing home. He was a retired truck driver with the Western Conference Teamsters in California, and an army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; Gretchen and W. C. Butler, and a sister Edith Montgomery.
Mr. Butler is survived by 3 sisters; Patsy Laws of Lawrence, KS, Mary Jane Bromley of Van Buren, AR, Betty cook of El Monte, CA, 3 brothers; Gayle Butler of Huntington Beach, CA, Burl and Leon Butler both of Van Buren, AR, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Funeral service will be 10:00a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009, in Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were his nephews.
